Published: 2015  Pages: 297

eISBN: 978-92-844-1658-5

Abstract:

The Manual on Accessible Tourism for All: Public-Private Alliances and Good Practices is the first publication of a technical nature produced by the UNWTO in collaboration with the ACS Foundation. The Manual highlights the value of accessible heritage and cultural resources and provides the necessary technical knowledge for making built and natural tourism environments accessible within the framework of public-private alliances.

The extensive experience of the ACS Foundation in these areas has served to stimulate the development of activities and products that make it possible to turn universal access in tourism into reality. The most significant actions are featured in this publication and represent best practices that can inspire other actors that may wish to adapt them to their respective realities.

Note: This publication has been prepared following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0) Level AA. The WCAG aim to make web content accessible to a wider range of users, including those with disabilities, including blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity and combinations of these.
